Welcome to schoolsCare, the Red Noses Schoolprogramme

RED NOSES bring laughter into hospitals - and Austrian schools help them. Engagement in a social project should be a fun and enjoyable experience for the children.

When students get involved in a successful social activity, they gain an incredible amount of community skills. RED NOSES accompanies and contributes to the various projects with posters, products and information material about the organization’s activities. RED NOSES is in steady contact with the project team to guarantee the most efficient implementation of the task.

1) Individual activities

The students, together with their teacher, use their own creativity and develop a project which they can carry out themselves in the benefit RED NOSES. It can be anything from handicrafts, a theatre piece, choir singing, and a toy flee market, sport events, charity collections or community festivals. If you have a brilliant idea, why not get in touch with us and start putting your idea into action!

2) "recycling4smile" –
schools collect empty toner cartridges

One can hardly imagine living and working without computers anymore, but have you ever stopped to think what happens to the empty toner cartridges? This "waste" brings money for RED NOSES and also serves environmental issues at the same time. Instead of throwing the cartridges away, they are collected and recycled in Austria. And all this at no expense to the schools!

3) Collecting old mobile phones

With this project it is very simple to present a smile to sick children. The collecting of old mobile phones can take place over several months and is particularly successful if it is communicated again and again at school. Each mobile phone, not older than 4 years, which is recycled professionally is worth € 2, and will be donated to RED NOSES.

4) Children create advent calendars

Children from schools and kindergardens can create advent calendars. RED NOSES use them as a very special “Thank you” present to people who did engage themselves very intensively for more laughter in hospital.

5) Christmas card campaign

More than 15,000 Austrian primary school children draw and design Xmas cards each year. They are then sold on behalf of RED NOSES. Each originally designed card is unique and the four best motives are printed as the special Christmas Series of the year. With each individually created card the students can support sick children in hospital.

6) Street Collection

Once a year hundreds of Austrian school children donate their time for this good cause and take to the streets of Vienna and Graz to collect money for RNI. This helps to maintain the number of regular clown visits to sick children in hospitals in all six partner countries.
