International Clown Camp at Werbellinsee 2011- A review
“The land of laughter” was this year’s theme at the RED NOSES international Clown Camp. From the 27th until the 30th clowns and office staff came together at the beautiful Werbellinsee near Berlin.
Every year one of the RED NOSES partner organizations is hosting this special event. This year our German team had the honors. They gave their friends and colleagues a memorable entrance and welcome to the “Land of Laughter”.
Safely arrived in the “Land of Laughter” the exciting and enriching workshop days could start. Lectures about various hospital related topics as well as a large variety of artistic workshops were part of the agenda.
Each morning the participants gathered at the so called ‘marketplace’. There according to the open space principles different workshops and lectures were offered and then chosen by the participants.
Soon the place around Werbellinsee was buzzing with motivated ukulele players, magic students, funny walkers, pantomimes and juggling students and of course the RED NOSES charme and happiness.
Another highlight took place at the end of the clown camp. 88 clowns visited the senior citizen home “Seniorenheim Curata”.
The biggest clown visit ever. No eye stayed dry, the hallways and rooms were full of laughter, music and even happy birthdays!
With a suitcase full of memories and new skills RED NOSES made their way home.
A little sad because it was so nice, but also full of joy and because next year we will meet again in Hungary !!!
