In order to honour and promote voluntary work, the European Union made 2011 the official “European Year of Volunteering.”
The more one thinks about it, one becomes aware that, particularly in Austria, many important welfare state tasks are performed by volunteers and non-profit associations. One just needs to think of the voluntary fire brigade, ambulance services or the support for the homeless.
Many helpers who provide their time and expertise free of charge are an invaluable support system in our society. This invariably gives the “European Year of Volunteering” a whole new meaning.
Similarly RED NOSES Clowndoctors is also very dependent on help from volunteers. It has therefore become a quintessential concern for us to put these dedicated volunteers into the limelight since they have accompanied us for so many years.
Numerous special projects and seasonal campaigns carried out by RED NOSES would never have been made possible without our volunteer staff. They form part of an extremely strong back up system and are very important for our organization.
Particularly on this occasion, the “European Year of Volunteering,” RED NOSES would like to say an even bigger THANK YOU for the endless number of hours and the relentless commitment. It’s certainly not something to be taken for granted. Many, many thanks – your efforts and tireless dedication are an integral part of the success of our organization.
