RED NOSES in New Zealand
needs our help!

On 22 February an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale shook Christchurch, the second largest city in New Zealand.

Sadly 113 victims perished and over 200 are still missing. With much of the city now in ruins, thousands of residents are in complete despair as they have lost everything and many are left without water or electricity.The infrastructure is destroyed and parts of the Christchurch Hospital are severely damaged.

The RED NOSES New Zealand office is situated in Christchurch (www.clowndoctors.org.nz), but luckily all our friends and colleagues are doing fine. Although many of them lost their homes, they still want to help their fellow citizens.

More than ever the people of Christchurch need hope, strength and solace to overcome these difficult hours. Thomas Petschner, CEO of Clowndoctors New Zealand, and his clowns are now tirelessly visiting shelters, emergency rooms and relief centers. Since streets are destroyed and petrol supplies are short, their work is proving to be a very challenging task.
