This project is all about environmental protection coupled together with igniting the joy of life for sick and suffering people. How? From every recycled toner cartridge, a donation of € 1 goes to RED NOSES Clowndoctors International. With this donation you're helping to build international competence centres which promote clown work in hospitals.
The recycling programme offers companies, public institutions and schools the opportunity to send back their empty toner cartridges. Instead of them ending up in the dustbin, they're collected in RED NOSES boxes and our sponsoring company, EMBATEX AG, picks up the full boxes and delivers new empty ones – free of charge. This means that there are absolutely no costs and no other effort or input is needed from the companies taking part in the programme. All you have to do is register by phone, fax, email or directly on the web page www.recycling4smile.com.
With your own individual internet user name and password you will have access to your own personal user recycling portal. Here you can order your collection box or give a date when it should be picked up when full. You can also have up-to-date information about your donation account resulting from your collected toner cartridges.
Cartridge Collect, an organisation specialising in collection services, belongs to the company Embatex AG, which recycles and produces toner cartridges. The returned empties are recycled using the quality standards ISO 9001, DIN 33870 and DIN 33871-1. Non-recyclable items are professionally disposed of (refuse collection number 277022, key numbers 57129 a). Since June 2005, Embatex AG has quality standards certified with EMAS as well as ISO 14001.
The idea of combining children’s laughter with environmental protection was received very well by the Department for Environmental Protection of the Municipality of Vienna. This was marked when Dr. Karin Büchl-Krammerstätter, Head of the Department for Environmental Protection MA 22 and Dipl.Ing. Peter Bortenschlager, Head of the Waste Department (MA 48), announced RNI’s Managing Director, Monica Culen, Waste Manager of the year 2002.
1,500 Austrian companies have already joined in the r4s programme.
Join in! It’s fun!!
Sustainable campaigns make sense and bring laughter into hospitals all over the world!
